The only thing with the Joaquin Phoenix clip is that it was a set-up for the movie ‘I’m Still Here’.
So it wasn’t Joaquin being weird, he was acting for a movie, and Letterman knew nothing about it.
It’s a very interesting movie on stardom, and losing your shit.
