The Sixth Wall is a pop culture entertainment magazine. Leveraging pop culture topics, which are largely universally enjoyed by people across planet Earth, The Sixth Wall entertains its readers with short, fun stories that are informative, if not downright educational at times.
For a show that was cancelled after only 12 episodes, “Freaks and Geeks” was remarkably successful. During its short time on the air, the high school comedy developed a small but dedicated fan base that later inundated NBC with angry letters after its cancellation. The overwhelming response forced the network to broadcast six unaired episodes. Thanks to the Internet and DVDs, the show has since gained a cult following, and for good reason. The solid writing and inspired acting helped launch the careers of some of today’s hottest talent: Judd Apatow, Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jason Segel and Shia LaBeouf, just to name a few. Obviously the show would not have been this successful had it not been for the spot-on recreation of high-school life.
The “Freak and Geeks” recreation has not only informed hundreds of subsequent television shows and movies, but now web series, as well. While our own series, MacAwesome wasn’t exactly made on a Hollywood budget, it does try to pay homage to that same awkwardness and teenage angst that we love so much. As a tribute to the high-school dork in all of us, the following matrix examines the characters from “Freaks and Geeks” and checks in on the career paths of the actors who played them.

How could you leave out the fact that Shaun Weiss was Goldberg in the Mighty Ducks movies?! And he was in that memorable Pizza Hut commercial with the kids playing baseball.

Um, I am morally opposed to your “Who the heck is Shaun Weiss?” question. HELLO! He was GREG GOLDBERG in the MIGHTY DUCKS films! He deserves to be at the tip top of this list!
John Francis Daley has been on Bones for the past 3 seasons and is absolutely great. And anything Martin Starr is in I watch. Adventureland wouldn’t have been as good without him. Both very funny. I think they should have been higher than the ‘hot girl’ who has been on a vampire drama on network for one season. True Blood? Maybe. Vampire Diaries? Hardly.

What about Rashida Jones (Parks and recreation/the office) she played Karen, who wrote pygmy geek on Sam’s Locker in “Kim Kelly Is My Friend”
