12 Most Talented Pets on YouTube

All pets are special to their owners. Some, however, have that extra something that makes the rest of us notice them too. While YouTube is known for being a repository for stupid pranks and unintentionally funny home videos, a large portion of their video (and subsequently their business) is due to talented animals. These videos garner millions of hits, and most people have watched their favorite pet videos multiple times!

Some animals have classic skills, like piano-playing and skateboarding. But there are also those animals that deserve to be acknowledged for doing those mundane tasks that are typically human. (Hey, if you could lick your rear, we’d watch that too.) If they’re no supposed to be doing it, we want to watch!

1. Maru the Determined Cat
Maru’s talent is demonstrating a stick-to-itiveness that many humans can’t muster. He loves being inside boxes. He will try, regardless of how small, flat, tall or hard it may be, to get into a box.

2. Nora the Piano Cat

Nora, a sweet-faced gray cat, plays the piano. Not in the keyboard cat sort of way – with someone moving her arms while she frowns and looks just past camera. No, Nora takes direction from her owner on when to press the keys and is able to play along with other musicians. She is so talented that conductor and composer Mindaugas Piecaitis wrote a concerto just for Nora.

3. Halo the Pool-Playing Dog

This puppy doesn’t fetch balls, he sinks them… in the corner pocket!

4. Star the Talented Border Colliie

This smart Border Collie can identify her toys by name!

5. Kame-chan the video-game loving Cockatiel

This cockatiel sings pieces hand-picked for his gamer owner. Included in his reptoire so far are The Legend of Zelda theme and Victory’s Fanfare and Chocobo’s Theme from Final Fantasy.

6. Tillman the Skateboarding Dog

This bulldog is one of THE most famous YouTube animals. In fact, he has been featured in an iPhone commercial.

7. Waterskiing Squirrel

There is nothing more fascinating that watching an animal outside of his habitat. Like a squirrel, for example, wearing a life jacket while waterskiing at a boat show.

8. Quiz the Toilet Trained Cat

Quiz not only uses the toilet (not a litter box), but she flushes too!

9. Bebo the Beatboxing Bird

This little guy scratches, spins and goes wikky-wikky.

10. A Backpacking Pet Penguin

This penguin was trained by its owners to tote its little backpack into town to go pick up fish. You have to wonder if he’s not skimming off the top.

11. Patches the Coolest Horse

This horse obeys traffic safety, opens doors, chooses food from the fridge, answers the phone and tucks himself in at night. Oh yeah, and he likes to “ride” into town.

12. Faith the Two-Legged Wonder Dog

This dog was born without her front two legs, so she learned to walk with only two! Hey, humans do it all the time.

Now she travels the country inspiring the injured.
