Gamers Get Girls: Online Gaming vs. Online Dating7
By T6W Staff
As a follow up to this morning’s story on how online dating killed the speed-dating star, we found that modern dating websites, even uber-specific fare such as “Lovebitten” (that’s dating for vampires, so they’re probably not going on too many hikes) can’t keep up in our high-tech world.
In an unanticipated turn of events, recent studies show that massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) are bringing would-be lovers together more effectively, and keeping them together longer than the dating sites designed for that very purpose!
These games include the megahits such as World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy, as well as a slew of licensed properties such as Star Wars and Lord of the Rings that lend themselves well to creating worlds.
