Pumpkin Pimple Cream: How and Why to Turn Your Jack-O-Lantern Pulp Into a Facial Mask
By T6W Staff
When most people think of ways to make use of their leftover Halloween pumpkin innards, images of warm gooey pie or baked seeds usually spring to mind. In fact, cooking that pulp in one fashion or another is the only means the world has come up with for recycling our favorite giant orange squash… until the world met Terri Bennett.
An environmentalist, business savvy homemaker, and accomplished scientist, Terri is two parts Al Gore, one part Martha Stewart, topped off with a scoop of Arianna Huffington. Terri is the heart and soul of Do Your Part, a powerful media outlet devoted to providing everyday green living solutions for everyday people. KoldCast TV is now a proud partner of Do Your Part, bringing their innovative waste reduction ideas to an entirely new audience: you!
Watch, drop jaw, exfoliate, and repeat:
Halloween is a holiday that virtually breeds waste. Millions of eggs launched at houses, miles of toilet paper strewn on trees, multitudes of littered candy wrappers, and countless costumes worn once, then chucked. Recognizing that these are the real ghouls and goblins to fear on our macabre little holiday, Terri has formulated a fast and easy method to convert pumpkin pulp into incredible, edible, healthy facial cream.
It’s a little known fact that pumpkin is rich in anti-oxidants and beta-carotene, plus it’s loaded with vitamins A, C and E – the same vitamins that are found in many expensive skin care lines. When you make a simple mask from pumpkin you’ll be creating less waste, you’ll save money and it’s good for your skin!
Making Pimple Cream Out of Pumpkin Guts
is Easier Than You Think
Step 1: Scoop out the pumpkin pulp and put it into a food processor. You can add a few seeds for extra exfoliating power.

Step 2: Rub the pumpkin on your face and neck and let it set for 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse. You will be amazed at how good your skin feels afterwards.

Step 3: Store any remaining mask in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

This Halloween, Do Your Part and treat yourself to a pumpkin facial by putting the entire pumpkin to use.
You’ll feel and look great for doing it.
