KoldCast Appoints Ariel Nishli Editor-in-Chief of The Sixth Wall1

By David S. Samuels

KoldCast Entertainment Media has appointed Ariel Nishli to the post of Editor-in-Chief of The Sixth Wall, KoldCast’s cultural commentary and entertainment magazine.

Ariel will manage the digital publication’s bench of talented writers and build upon the two-and-a-half-year foundation of the publication, established by former Editor-in-Chief Marti Resteghini (who left T6W to sow her entrepreneurial oats), and its publisher David S. Samuels, CEO of KoldCast Entertainment Media, LLC.

Prior to joining KoldCast in October 2011 as a staff writer, Ariel studied Human and Organizational Development at Vanderbilt University, followed by a brief stint at a London PR firm, before embarking upon a two-year term in the motion picture literary department at International Creative Management (ICM). Thereafter, Ariel joined Parkes/MacDonald Productions, working in feature film development for nearly two years. As our new Editor-in-Chief, Ariel is tasked with taking The Sixth Wall to the next level. His responsibilities will be broad and extend well beyond editorial strategy.

The Sixth Wall is an American general-interest magazine covering popular culture, current affairs, and the eccentricities of the world we live in, with an emphasis on the burgeoning Internet television medium. Subject matter ranges from film, music, household names and history, to politics, business, science, and technology, among other absorbing issues. Stories are presented with a pinch of satire and healthy dose of wit, aiming to wrest the peculiar from the otherwise pedestrian.

Since its inception, The Sixth Wall has become a material component of KoldCast’s overall business model, growing from a readership base of zero in November 2009, to over 2.3 million site visits in February 2012, generating over 8.6 million page views during that month. KoldCast believes the opportunity to increase readership is significant and will be taking steps in real time to introduce our expanding, exciting and relevant editorial content to an even wider audience.

Aside from obsessing over The Sixth Wall, Ariel focuses on screenwriting and journalism. He likes to think that if he’s not learning something new everyday, he’s not really living. Catch Ariel’s most recent story on The Wall – March Madness: Big Business for No Pay.
